A fabricated steel staircase built to code and installed into a tight stairwell.
The challenge: A commercial building needed an internal staircase to a new upper level, built to the relevant code for rise, going and handrail height. The staircase had to fit a tight stairwell and be finished to match the building.
Our approach: We fabricated the staircase from steel stringers and channel, with folded non-slip tread plates and a continuous handrail. The unit was shop-welded and trial-fitted before delivery. On site it was lifted into the stairwell and bolted to the floor and landing.
The outcome: The staircase fitted the stairwell with even rises and landings, and the handrail met code height. It was installed in a day, ready for the floor finishes. The builder later ordered a matching external stair for the rear access.
