One-off and production sheet metal work: hoppers, chutes, guards, brackets, pans and plate work built to drawings.

What we build

Hoppers and chutes, bins and pans, machine guards and interlocked guarding, covers and hoods, brackets and gussets, dishes and cones, trays and bodies, and general plate work. We work in mild steel, galvanised, stainless and aluminium, in gauges from thin sheet up to heavy plate. If it is made of metal and needs to be cut, formed and welded, we can build it.

Materials

Mild steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel 304/316 and aluminium, in gauges from thin sheet to heavy plate. Material and thickness are matched to the part's load and the environment it will work in.

From sketch to finished piece

Many clients come to us with a problem rather than a drawing. They know what the part needs to do; they do not always know how it should be made. We work through it with them — measuring the space, selecting the material, deciding whether it should be bolted or welded, and suggesting ways to make it cheaper without weakening it. We then produce the part, trial-fit it where possible, and deliver it ready to install.

Design for fabrication

We regularly improve client drawings to make them easier and cheaper to build. That might mean choosing a standard section instead of a fabricated one, rotating a bracket so a weld is accessible, or splitting a large part so it can be delivered through a doorway. These suggestions save money and do not change what the part does. We flag them before we cut steel, so you approve every change.

Production runs

We also take on short production runs — repeated parts for a manufacturer, a set of identical guards, or a batch of brackets. Once we have the pattern right, we nest, batch-cut and batch-weld to keep the unit cost down, and we supply the parts in labelled kits ready for assembly.

Finishing

We can leave parts raw, prime them, or arrange powder-coating or galvanising for exterior exposure. We match the finish to the environment: internal machine guards might just need a prime, while an external gate needs a proper corrosion system.
