Computer-controlled laser and plasma cutting with clean edges, sharp internal corners and tight dimensional accuracy.

Materials and capacity

We cut mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Laser cutting suits sheet up to around 12 mm in mild steel; plasma cutting handles plate from around 10 mm up. Parts are nested to reduce waste.

Laser cutting

Laser cutting uses a focused beam to melt a narrow kerf through the sheet. It gives us extremely clean edges, sharp internal corners, and the ability to cut fine detail, small holes and intricate profiles. It excels on thinner sheet (generally up to around 8–12 mm depending on material) where edge quality matters. It is ideal for decorative panels, brackets, gussets, machine parts and nested production runs.

Plasma cutting

Plasma uses a high-velocity ionised gas to melt and blow away metal. It is the right choice for heavier plate — 10 mm and up — and for materials that laser struggles with. It is slightly rougher on the cut edge than laser, but it is faster on thick material and more forgiving of surface scale. We use plasma for structural plate, base plates, heavy guards and thick fabrication blanks.

Nesting and waste

Cutting cost is driven partly by material waste. We nest parts efficiently on each sheet, sharing common cuts where possible, so you get more parts from the same plate. On production runs this makes a real difference to the unit price. We also keep offcuts for possible future small parts rather than throwing them away.

From your CAD file

We can cut directly from your DXF or DWG file, once we have checked it for manufacturability — minimum hole sizes, internal corner radii, and whether the part can be cut without falling out of the sheet. If we spot a problem we raise it before cutting, so the first part off the machine is right.

Edge quality

Laser-cut edges are usually ready to weld or paint straight away. Plasma edges may need a quick grind where a clean fit is required. We tell you what to expect, and we can deburr or edge-break parts for you if needed.
